Salmon Arm RCMP made a young girl and her family very happy by returning a dog missing for approximately a year to its rightful owners in March.

On March 15 the RCMP received a call from a woman who said she knew the possible location of her family’s dog which went missing from their Lee Creek property approximately a year ago and was believed stolen.

Officers located the dog in Salmon Arm and were able to seize it from a man thanks to an identification tattoo which the dog’s rightful owners recorded the number of.

“This is one case where the owners did tattoo their pet with an identifiable number and retain that number. This fact alone was instrumental in reuniting the pet with it’s family,” said Salmon Arm RCMP Staff Sergeant Scott West.

The investigation into the theft and possession of stolen property has concluded with no charges laid at this time.
