Fatality on train tracks near Canoe Beach

RCMP, CP Rail police and the BC Coroners service are investigating a non-suspicious death on the rail tracks that took place Tuesday, July 25 near Canoe Beach.

RCMP, CP Rail police and the BC Coroners service are investigating a non-suspicious death on the rail tracks that took place Tuesday, July 25 near Canoe Beach.

The fatal incident took place approximately a kilometre from the Canoe Beach Park at approximately 2:30 p.m.

As a result, train traffic in the area was shut down for approximately three hours. The stopped train blocked vehicle access to the boat launch during that time.

The RCMP indicate work is underway to identify the adult man who died.
