Due to high water, a temporary closure of Canoe Beach is being implemented by the City of Salmon Arm.

“Please be advised that due to current high water conditions and the expectation that Shuswap Lake levels will continue to rise, the City of Salmon Arm will be temporarily closing Canoe Beach to protect the public,” says a statement issued in the afternoon of Wednesday, June 7 .

City staff will be fencing off the CPR pedestrian tunnel, posting beach closure signs at all access points, locking and shutting down the bathrooms and flood proofing the Canoe Beach sanitary lift station.

The closure will remain in effect until further notice by the city.
