The last week before school will be hot and dry; not a cloud in the sky – well, maybe a couple on Thursday.
That is the hot-weather picture painted by Environment Canada, right through Sunday.
Temperatures will range from 30 C today to a high of 33 C on Wednesday, with a mix of sun and cloud on Thursday and temperatures dropping to a not-so-hot high of 28 C through to Sept. 2.
The UV index remains high, so slap on a hat and a good sunscreen before heading outside to enjoy the dog days of summer.
There has been very little rain since mid-June and conditions are extremely dry, so be extremely careful. Sparks from lawn mowers, grinders and other equipment could start a fire in these conditions.
Due to drought conditions, water users are asked to conserve water: wanter gardens sparingly, forget the lawn, the green will return when it rains and don’t let water run unnecessarily.
