Sorrento area targeted by thefts

Chase RCMP step up patrols, ask residents to be aware.

Chase RCMP are stepping up patrols in the Sorrento area in response to recent thefts.

On Thursday, Aug. 10, Chase RCMP received a report of an overnight theft from a locked toolbox in the back of a truck. The vehicle was parked at a residence on Notch Hill Road in Sorrento.

The same day, Chase police received a report of a break and enter to a residential garage, also on Notch Hill Road. Suspects gained entry through a locked door and searched the garage and a vehicle. Loose change and a duffel bag containing tools was stolen.

The next day, Aug. 11, Chase RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a fenced compound on Notch Hill Road. Once in the compound, suspects entered a locked trailer and stole hand tools.

Chase RCMP report they have increased patrols in the Sorrento area in response to these thefts, and residents in the area are asked to report any suspicious activity.
