UPDATE: Cleanup continues at Chase accident scene

Still waiting for information on Sept. 14 accident at TCH and Sunnybrae

A Drive BC report eatly Friday morning indicated the Trans-Canada Highway near Chase was closed due to an accident west of that community.

Chase RCMP Cpl. Scott Linklater reports there is no new accident.

The highway was reduced to single-lane alternating traffic so crews could clean up the debris left from yesterday’s accident. He says BC Hydro crews were on-scene yesterday so clean-up crews returned this morning.

Meanwhile, the highway was closed shortly after 7 last night following a reportedly serious accident 14 km west of Salmon Arm at the Sunnybrae turn-off.

The road reopened at 8:26 p.m.

No other details are available at this time but updates will be made as soon as possible.
