It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allen Ward Bennett. Allen was taken from us much too suddenly on Monday February 15th, 2010, in Prince George, B.C. at the age of fifty. He was born in Vernon, B.C. on August 11th, 1959 and grew up in Notch Hill, B.C. with his six brothers and sisters. He worked in the logging and construction industries throughout his life. He eventually left Notch Hill, to reside in Prince George, where he met Shannon Smith, his partner of 22 years. In 1998 Allen and Shannon gave birth to their only child, Morgan Fay. Morgan was Allen’s greatest gift in life; he made this apparent every time you talked to him. Allen fought many health issues throughout his life, but always managed to beat the odds. Allen could tell jokes like no other, and never missed a punch line. He was the type of man who would drop whatever he was doing to go and help out a friend.

Allen is survived by and will be lovingly missed by his partner Shannon, and daughter Morgan, of Prince George; Daughter, Jackie Lynn Bennett of Kamloops; Stepfather, Pete Taylor of Notch Hill; Sister, Jenny McLeod of Chase; Sister, Cindy Taylor (Les) of Kamloops; Sister, Trudy Bennett of Celista; Brother, Leslie Bennett (Sandy) of Salmon Arm; Brother, Kenith Bennett (Deb) of Edson, AB; Sister, Patricia Power (Ed) of Fraser Lake. He also had many nieces and nephews who shared lots of laughs with him, and will miss him dearly. Other family members and friends, too many to mention, will all share in this great loss.

We’re gonna miss you Oopie, you lil potlicker! Love you, in our hearts forever.

Condolences may be sent to trudymb@airspeedwireless.ca. No service will be held, at Allen’s request, but family and friends will gather in the summer to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Brain Injury Society.
