Andre Py passed away July 26, 2010 in Calgary, at the age of 86.  He is survived by his wife Marcelle; daughter Evelyne in Victoria; son Philippe, daughter-in-law Jane, and granddaughters Simone and Isabel, in Calgary.

Andre was born in Paris, France in 1924. During the Second World War, he was involved with the French resistance in Paris at the time of the German occupation. After the liberation of Paris, he volunteered with the First French Army in the 2me Division Marocaine Engineers. He participated in the liberation of France and in the invasions of Germany and Austria, for which he was well decorated.

Andre and Marcelle, with their young daughter Evelyne immigrated to Canada in 1951, settling in Burns Lake, where his son Philippe was born.  They lived in the area until 1995, when he and Marcelle moved to Salmon Arm. In 2008, they relocated to Calgary to be closer to their granddaughters.

Andre will be dearly missed by many.
