ANNIE DOBRESCU (Nee DINU) August 15, 1922 – January 25, 2008, passed away in the Shuswap Lake General Hospital at Salmon Arm, B.C. She is survived by her daughter Lana German, son-in-law Walter German, grandson Stephen (Vickie) German, great-grandson Jesse, sisters Mary Buckoski, Dora Granger, Ruth Mock, brother Bill (Darlene) Dinu, and numerous nieces and nephews. Annie was born and raised near Flintoft, Sask., on a homestead. She married, lived and worked on her in-laws farm for a number of years, then moved to Regina with her daughter. Annie worked for McGavin’s Bakery in Regina for a number of years. She was a long time resident of Cedarwood Manor in Regina. Despite many years of suffering with COPD Annie always had a positive attitude. She was an avid bowler for many years, an excellent seamstress, knitter, crocheter and also enjoyed other crafts as well. She loved gardening, played a few games of golf, enjoyed traveling, and was also a good cook. She always had a good sense of humour, spoke what was on her mind, and enjoyed playing cards for hours with relatives and friends. Annie also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was very kind hearted, an excellent caregiver, enjoyed reading, and loved doing puzzles. She will be sincerely missed by all of her family and friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt kindness to the staff on the second floor at Bastion Place, and to Dr. Heunis. There will be no funeral service, but there will be a graveside service when her ashes are laid to rest with her parents in Regina.
