Bob passed away while hiking with Marjorie in Arizona at the age of 65 years on February 18, 2009.  Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Marjorie; mother, Kathleen Clark of Rossland, BC; sons, Rob (Tammi) of Salmon Arm, Michael (Irene) and grandson, Taitum and granddaughter Louzanna (Jordan) of Bellingham, WA, and David of Vancouver, BC.  He will also be loved always and remembered by his sister, Judy Rourke of Vernon, BC; brothers, Lawrence (Donna) of Vernon and Mark (Wendy) of Trail, BC; and sister-in-law, Mae MacAulay of Armstrong, BC.  He also leaves many close relatives in his extended family.  Bob was predeceased by his father, Bruce MacAulay of Rossland and his brother, Ken MacAulay of Kamloops, BC.

Born in Rossland, BC, Bob lived there until he graduated, then he completed the physics honours program at UBC.  Bob served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from September 14, 1962 until January, 1971.  At that time, Bob knew he wanted to be a teacher and completed his teaching degree.  Salmon Arm was his first teaching assignment and he taught at the Salmon Arm High School his entire career.

Bob lived every day to the fullest.  His retirement years were full and happy, playing golf, playing bridge and traveling with Marjorie.  Bob had an optimistic outlook on life and loved to be with people.  This world is definitely a better place because Bob MacAulay was a part of it.  He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jackson Campus of SASS (551 – 14th Street, NE) in Salmon Arm in the auditorium.  Everyone is welcome.
