BRYCE CHARLES RANKIN

July 16, 1951 – July 4, 2010

Just two weeks shy of his 59th birthday Bryce succumbed to lung cancer at the North Okanagan Hospice in Vernon.

Born in Montreal, he moved to Kitsilano, BC in 1969 arriving on his Triumph Trident. Eventually settling in Mara, BC with his wife Diane. Also surviving are sons Kelly (Rachel ann) and Curtis (Sarah), grandchildren Tyler and Lily, sisters Lorna (Gordon) and Maggie (Dale), and many nieces and nephews. Bryce has left us to join his parents Lawrence and Marjorie, stepmothers Eugenie and Carmelle, and grandparents Charles and Elizabeth, John and Rose. He attained many licenses and certificates in the construction industry, including Certified Property Inspector and was a member of the Carpenters Union for 29 years. No matter the size of a project he took pride in his work. Notably he was part of the crew that built the hydroelectric dams in Limestone, MB and Revelstoke, BC.

His many interests included playing drums in several classic rock bands and fishing. He had all his contingencies covered. Service on Saturday, July 10th, 2:00 pm at Personal Alternative Funeral Services (2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong, 250-546-7237) with Celebration of Life Fundraiser Jam to follow at 7:00 pm Grindrod Riverfront Pub (6927 Highway 97A, Grindrod) for the North Okanagan Hospice Society (3506 27th Avenue Vernon BC V1T 1S4 250-503-1800).
