Charlie Adolph Williams passed away peacefully, in the loving care of his family, at his homestead in Gleneden, Salmon Arm, on the afternoon of

Tuesday, July 15, 2008, one year and four days after the death of his wife.

The funeral service was held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on the morning of Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 a.m. with Jim Hamilton officiating. Legion honours were shared by comrades of the Royal Canadian Legion, led by Padre Norm Russell. Interment followed on the Williams homestead, which included a reception on the farm.

Born in Chase, BC on January 26, 1921, Charlie was a pioneer of the area, having lived on the homestead for the past 61 years. He was a veteran of WW II and is well remembered for his variety of work in the area,including ranching and farming.

Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Bertha; parents, Adolph and Alice; brother, Joe, and sisters, Jennie, Helen and Annie; son-in-law, Faron Jones (February 8, 2008); and infant granddaughter, Sherilyn. He is survived by his four children, Barb (Les Shuttleworth) Lawrance, Sandra Williams, Sonny Williams and Debbie Jones; nine grandchildren, Brenda, Peggy, Julie, Vicki, Derek, Jan and Shari; 12 great grandchildren; and brother, Les Williams of Salmon Arm.
