It is with great sadness that the family of Claire Catherine Shattock announces her passing from this life on Saturday January 7th, 2017 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 69 years.
She passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside after her courageous battle with cancer. The celebration of her life will be held at Bowers Funeral Home on Wednesday January 18th at 4:00pm.
Claire was born in Christchurch, New Zealand to parents Peter and Anne Hampton. She met Richard her husband of 47 years in Vancouver in 1968 while travelling. They settled in Salmon Arm before moving back to New Zealand in 1970. After many years they immigrated back to Salmon Arm in 1988 with her two children Malcolm ( Wife-Deedee, Son-Tyler )and Ann-Marie ( Daughter-Reagyn ). Claire spent the next 28 years living a full life, she loved to travel and nothing was more important to her than family. She was able to travel many places and was able to see the marriage of her son to Deedee and watch her two grandchildren Tyler and Reagyn grow up. She loved sharing in all their activities including Baseball, Soccer and Hockey trips.
Claire is loved by us all. She will be forever missed by her immediate family as well as her New Zealand family, sister Maureen, brothers Mike and Chris as well as her many friends.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Kelowna General Hospital and the Cancer Clinic for everything they did for her over the last months of her life.
