Clarence Joseph Mertz went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2008.

He died at his home in Salmon Arm, BC at the age of 87 years.

Clare was born at Waverley, Ontario on December 16, 1920. He worked in carpentry in the community and was a founding member of Little Mountain Bible Chapel. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Grace; five children, Mary (Brian) Crumback, Ruth Anne (Mac) Davidson, Joe (Sandy) Mertz, John Mertz, and Grace (Paul) Euler; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Gwen (Ed) Woods; brothers, Arden (Betty) and Ron (Lorna) Mertz; and sister-in-law, Grace Mertz.

A public viewing was held at Bowers Funeral Home on Saturday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. Burial followed at Mount Ida Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Clare’s life was held on April 5 at 1:30 p.m. at Little

Mountain Bible Chapel, 3481 - 10th Avenue, SE, Salmon Arm, with Brian Crumback and Ken Spohr officiating.

Donations in memory of Clare may be made to The Gideons or Little Mountain Bible Chapel.
