It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dale Randal Apps at his home on the eve of Dec. 24th, 2010 at the age of 53 years.

He leaves behind his loving wife Jo of 24 years, his stepson Jason Sibley, their grandchildren Savanah and Wesley, his parents Gerald and Fran Apps and his sister Karen Young, all of Salmon Arm. He certainly will be missed by Jo’s family, the Apps family and his many friends.

Dale was born in New Westminster BC on June 4, 1957. He moved to Salmon Arm in 1972. He was a man of many talents and abilities. These were expressed in all the renovations he did on his home and property. He was an excellent fabricator and mechanic. His real passions, however, were with Harley bikes, which he built, rode and showed and mini car racing on weekends – a sport he greatly enjoyed, not only driving but working many hours at home on them.

In 1986 Dale married Jo and together they started both a welding and miniature horse business. Fulfilling Dale’s dream, their bike shop J.D. Performance opened in their backyard in 1997 and later moved to Vernon in 2005. Dale being owner and mechanic was proud of his shop and he stood behind all his work forming a good trust with all his customers.

Dale appeared to be a grizzly bear but he really was a sweet teddy bear with a huge loving heart. He was a one of a kind type of man with a unique sense of humor and an amazing love for teasing whoever he could. He loved his family and his animals, both the horses and his dogs, especially his most recent dog Punky. We will sure miss you our grumpy teddy bear.

At Dale’s request he was cremated with no service to be held.
