Passed away from this life peacefully in Surrey Memorial Hospital with his wife Vera of 67 years at his bedside. Dave and Vera lived in Sicamous, BC for 57 years, where they raised their family of six children and Dave was self employed as a plumber and electrician. As health restrictions limited their independence they made the decision to move to Surrey in May 2006 and be close to other family members. Dave was unfortunately predeceased by his son Merlin Cumming on August 1, 2009. Dave will be missed by his wife Vera, daughter Diane Jackson of White Rock, B.C., son Robert (Marg) of Kelowna, B.C., son Jim (Judy) of Sicamous, B.C, daughter Frances (Willis) of Creston, B.C., daughter Janet (Garry) of Surrey, B.C., daughter in-law Charlene Cumming of Revelstoke, B.C., 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Rose (Art) Hauka of Gibsons, BC. Funeral service to be held on Friday, December 18, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Sicamous Senior Activity Center. Interment will follow in the family plot at Solsqua Cemetery.
