Abbott, Donald Currie passed away April 26, 2008 in Shuswap Lake General Hospital at the age of 85 years. Formerly of Sorrento, BC.

A private service was held Sunday at his home in Salmon Arm.

Mr. Abbott was born August 09, 1922, in Westlock, Alta. where he met and married Jean Margaret Allen on May 14, 1945.

He served in the Air Force as a photographer, then in the Dept. of Energy Mines and Resources until his retirement to the Shuswap in 1969.

Travel, boating, a passion for converting motor coaches into motor homes, woodworking, and an interest in everything around him, kept him active throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean; son Lance (Carole) of Sorrento; daughter, Jeanne (Larry) of Kamloops; grand-son, Russell of Kamloops; brothers, William (Eva) of Salmon Arm, Harold (Irene) of Cedar Heights, Gordon (Nancy) of Edmonton; and sister, Margaret MacKenzie of Kelowna. Predeceased by his brother Robert, who is survived by his wife Shirley of Osoyoos.

The family is grateful for the care and attention provided by the ambulance attendants, hospital emergency and lower level staff, also home care for their compassionate support.
