It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Donna Stewart at 77 years young. Donna died peacefully at the Chinook Hospice in Calgary Alberta on October 19th, 2008 after a short 3-month fight with Esophageal cancer.
With deep regret, Donna leaves behind a loving daughter, Ann Stewart of Calgary, Alberta with whom she lived with for the last 13 years after the passing of her husband of 41 years, Arthur (Terry) Stewart on August 23, 1995 in Salmon Arm BC. And a loving son Chuck (Pam) Stewart, a long time resident of Hinton AB. She will also be deeply missed by her much-loved grandchildren Darian (21) and Janelle (23) Stewart of Red Deer, AB and her great-granddaughter, Madisynne (daughter of Darian) who she’ll never get to know. She will also be fondly remembered by her remaining sister Betty (John) Swann of Toronto ON, her nephews, Chris of Aurora ON and Jeff (Lori) and their son Austin of Barrie ON.
Since 1979 when Donna & Terry purchased their property at Eagle Bay BC, the Stewart clan has spent many “fun” vacations digging fence post holes, painting decks and building the perfect retirement home for Donna and Terry, which it became in 1991. Donna will be remembered lovingly by all for her strength of will, her “shoot from the hip” straight talk and her “quirky” sense of humor which she loved to unleash on unsuspecting strangers and friends alike. As a family we were proud to be with her on October 9, 2008 when she celebrated 36 years as a Friend of Bill W. And because of that friendship, we know she’ll never be gone as long as someone is guided on their journey by her voice and words.
