Dorothy Ethelwyn Thalhofer Fehr died tragically with her great grandson, Eric Rand, in Vernon, BC on Friday evening, November 13, 2009 at the age of 69 years.
The Funeral Service will be held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on Thursday, morning, November 19th at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Mountainside Room at Bowers, allowing time for the family and friends to continue sharing memories.
Born in Tidnishi, Westmorland Co., New Brunswick on October 6, 1940. Dorothy “Oma” was a long time resident of Hope, BC until moving to Enderby a few years ago and recently in August of this year to Vernon. She was a self employed bookkeeper, was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Thalhofer on February 1, 2008.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Isaac Fehr, having been married only a few weeks ago, October 25th, in the Cowboy Church; her five children, Gloria (Ken) English of Enderby, Paul (Tara) Thalhofer of Watson Lake, Yukon, Frank (Melody) Thalhofer of Moose Jaw, Marylen (Greg) Boyes of Salmo, Cala (Ron Moore) Thalhofer of Vernon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to her great grandson’s memorial fund, Eric Rand, C/O the Village Green Branch, CIBC, 3201 30th avenue, Vernon, BC VIE 2C6. Transit # 00206, account number 8924236. Eric, at his youthful age, realized the importance of helping others in need and this fund will assist to keep his spirit alive.
