Dorothy Mae Millott (nee Marsh) passed away peacefully at the age of 104.

Dorothy was born in Bristol, England to William James Marsh and Rose Arbury. Dorothy was the third of 11 children. In 1910, the family moved to Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. She married John Cyril Millott in 1924. In 1928, he moved to Canada and she followed him in 1930. Dorothy and “Sid” would make their home in Calgary raising a family of six children.

Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Sid, her sons, Tom, Jack and Bill, and three grandsons. She is survived and fondly remembered by three children, Rose, Bob and Ted, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and one brother, Percy.

Dorothy enjoyed her children and their families, taking an active role. In her spare time, she travelled to far-off places, worked in her garden, sewed, knitted and kept up with current events.

The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the staff while their mom was a resident in Pioneer Lodge and the Special Care Unit at Bastion Place. Additional thanks go to the people who worked with mom in recreation and the RN’s and LPN’s. We, the family, highly commend you for your kindness and patience and for allowing our mom to maintain her dignity. Thank you.

A memorial service was held on November 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mountainside Room at Bowers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations

may be made to Bastion Place, New Equipment Fund.
