Celebration of Life Service

Erling Kjaer Jensen passed away in Bastion Place, Salmon Arm on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the age of 76 years.

A celebration of Life Service will be held from the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. A reception will follow in the Mountainside Room.

Erling was born in Gammelby (Vejen), Denmark on November 10, 1933. He arrived in Canada in 1958 to work in drywall construction with his brother, Jens, in Calgary. In 1964, he married his wife, Tove, and they moved to Salmon Arm in 1965. He was the first drywall contractor in Salmon Arm and worked with his brother-in-law, Egon Jespersen. In 1972, he built his first house. Over the years, he built many houses in the Salmon Arm area until retirement in 1997.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Tove, son Neil (Terena), two grandchildren, Brendan and Gabriel, and his two dogs, Max & Zeus. He is survived by three sisters in Denmark, Kirsten, Anna and Ellen, and brothers-in-law, Egon (Sally) Jespersen, Jesper (Cathy) Jespersen, sister-in-law Isobel Jensen, and many nieces and nephews

He was a member of the Salmon Arm Fish & Game Club for many years, enjoyed bowling, golfing, and fishing, being a member of the Shuswap Flyfishers Club.
