On August 6, 2009, Erwin Lutz passed away at the age of 94 years with his family by his side. He was born May 8, 1915 in Mussell, Alberta to George and Anna Lutz. Erwin will be lovingly missed by his three children: Allan (Karen) Lutz of Lacombe, Darlene (Dennis) Simpson of Claresholm and Rhonda (Russell) Edwards of Lethbridge, as well as 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, his loving wife Evelyn Lutz (Murfin) of 53 years and later his special friend Agnes Palmer.

Erwin was raised in the Stettler area in Alberta, married Evelyn on February 22, 1942 and settled in Pincher Creek where he owned E. Lutz Plumbing. Erwin and Evelyn later retired to Salmon Arm, B.C. He was an avid curler, enjoyed fishing, boating and card playing with friends and family. Camping and traveling in his motorhome gave him much pleasure. Erwin was a devoted husband, companion, father and grandfather. He took great joy in acknowledging recording family events. Erwin will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday August 14th at 1:30 p.m. at Pincher Funeral Chapel, 1101 Main Street, Pincher Creek with interment in Fairview Cemetery.
