ETHEL THRESA FADER (nee granshorn)

On January 18, 2009 Ethel passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Kamloops Seniors Village at the age of 92. Survived by her loving daughter, Allison Fader of Ottawa, ON and son, Rick Fader of Pritchard, B.C. as well as brothers Lawrence and Don of Regina, SK and sister Leone of Houston, TX. Predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William “Bill” Fader in 1994. Ethel was born and raised on the family farm near Grand Coulee, SK and worked for the Sherwood Co-op prior to her marriage. As the wife of an RCAF officer, she lived in Ottawa, Calgary, Fontainebleau (France) and Winnipeg, moving to Kamloops upon Bill’s retirement, and finally to Chase in 1982. Ethel was the last surviving founding member of the Chase Art Group and also greatly enjoyed painting with the Blind Bay Painters. Ethel also enjoyed gardening, speed skating, music and animals.
