Faron Allan Jones passed away in Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC on the afternoon of Friday, February 8, 2008 at the age of 53 years, following an intensive battle with cancer.
The family held a wake at his residence in Salmon Arm on Tuesday afternoon and evening, followed by the funeral service at the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home in Salmon Arm on Wednesday, February 13th at 1:00 p.m. with Jim Hamilton officiating. The eulogy was given by Faron’s brothers, John and Harlen, with tributes being shared by family and friends, including Chief Wayne Christian and a special reading by Becky Hamilton. Pallbearers were John, Darrell and Harlen Jones, Derek Williams, Dwight Balt and Don Laws and honourary pallbearers were Miguel, Joseph, Sonny, Alex, Faron, Dave, Rob, Dean and Tom.
Cremation followed with interment taking place later in the family plot at the Williams’ private cemetery at Gleneden.
Born in Enderby, BC on December 10, 1954, Faron had lived his lifetime, except for four years in Taber, Alberta, in the Enderby and Salmon Arm area. He was employed with Crystal Glass for 17 years and is well remembered for his passion for golf, ball and hockey.
Faron was predeceased by a daughter, Sheri Lynn; parents, John and Dorothy Jones; mother-in-law, Bertha Williams; sister, Lorraine Jones; foster dad, Walter Jensen; and nephew, Tony . He leaves his loving family, wife, Debbie Jones; daughters, Jan and her children, Tasia and Miguel; Shari and son Joseph; two sisters and three brothers, Cindy (Colins) Andrew, Dodie (Alex Dubrett) Jones, John Jones, Darrell (Tracy) Jones and Harlen (Gail) Jones; several nieces and nephews; foster mother, Connie Jensen and the Jensen family.
