Florence was born in England and moved to Canada at the age of one year old. She spent 90 years of her life in Armstrong, Canoe and Salmon Arm.

The past four years of her life at Shuswap Lodge Retirement Residence which she really enjoyed.

Florence had always been actively involved within the community. She was a real true historian and knew everyone in the Shuswap area. She was involved with many different organizations over the years; Canadian Cancer Society, Historical Club, Naturalist Club, Museum, Thrift Shop and United Church. She spent 26 years working for Askew’s and was a faithful, valued employee.

Florence is survived by her grandchildren, Niki Rohde (Gary), Rick Farmer (Sharon) and Rob Jackson (Alena) and great grandchildren, Tyler, Travis, Richard, Cody, Kuira and Lanea. She also leaves behind many other nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many good friends. Florence was predeceased by her son, Richard Farmer and sisters, Doris Bursey and Kay Waddington.

Funeral services for Florence were held from the First United Church, Salmon Arm on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., with Will Sparks officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Ida Cemetery.
