George was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on Jan. 6, 1921 and passed away September 22, 2009 in Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC surrounded by his family.

He was predeceased by his parents and younger brother Harold. George is survived by sisters Ruth (SK), Gwen (ON), Elsie (AB) and Joan (AB), brothers Fred, Sid Jr. and Harry, all of AB, daughter Joyce and her sons Calvin (Karen) and Chris (Corrinne) of Sicamous, son John (Barb) and their daughters Tammy (Mike), Theresa (Scott) and Christina (Danny) all of ON, daughter Susan (Frank) and their children David and Emma, son Robert and his sons Jay, Robert and Barry all of England, great grandchildren Cody, Colbie, Cain, Shelby, Dylan, Bryan, Stephanie, McGuire, Damien, Reece, Seann and Charlotte as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

George was a soldier in the Army in WWII and a Legion member for 60 years, spending time in Sask. and Alta. before settling in Sicamous 20 years ago. George enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles and travelling. Thanks to Dr. Beech, Dr. Britol and the staff on level 2 and ICU for their care and kindness. Much thanks to the caring staff of the Sicamous Lodge.

No funeral or memorial service at this time.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #99, Box 105, Sicamous, BC, V0E 2V0 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, Box 1412, Kamloops, BC, V2C 6L7.
