George Herbert Malcolm

October 3, 2010

With sadness in our hearts the family of George Herbert Malcolm, announces his peaceful passing on Sunday, October 3, 2010, in Penticton, B.C.

Predeceased by his loving wife Phyllis, George will be lovingly remembered by his children, Stuart (Karen), David (Helga), Laury, Wayne (Bonnie), and his 6 grandchildren, Kendra, Amy, Kerri, Bryce, Andrea and Braden, and his brother Stuart and his wife, Delores. George and Phyllis married Sept. 2, 1947.

Once retired, George and Phyllis travelled across Canada before settling on their own patch of heaven in Eagle Bay in 1988.  George was a member of the Hampsters and a volunteer fireman.  Eagle Bay Boogies will remain in our hearts forever. They moved to Salmon Arm, and shortly after Phyllis’s passing, he moved to the Shuswap Lodge where he was always the life of the lodge. Always smiling, he enjoyed the finer things in life; a good game of Crib, full glass of wine with coffee, a ripe sense of humour, his visits to the Legion, and proudly watching his family grow up and supporting their passions. George was a proud veteran, served in WWII, recognized by the Royal Canadian Legion with a 65 year pin. Most of all though, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored and loved with all his heart. He always looked forward to their visits and was so proud of them.

A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 9th at 11:30 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62, 141 NW Hudson Ave., Salmon Arm B.C

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire a donation may be made in George’s name to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62, Salmon Arm. B.C
