Gertrude Elizabeth (Trudy) Benson passed away in Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, BC on Friday, November 23, 2007 at the age of 68 years.
A celebration of life service was held at the Sorrento Memorial Hall on Friday, November 30 at 1:00 p.m., with Archdeacon Vic Kerr and The Reverend Bob Crosby officiating. The OAPO Glee Club, directed by Barbara Chisholm, shared musical tributes. Pianists were Darla Crown and Marion Sheerstone. A reception followed, allowing family and friends to continue sharing memories and review the memorial table.
Born in Russell, Manitoba on September 27, 1939, Trudy lived an active life, residing in Sorrento for the past 21 years. She is well remembered for her love of swans, square dancing, knitting, sewing and enthusiasm for living life.
Trudy is survived by her loving family; husband of 45 years, Dennis; two sons, Jerry (Dee Dee) of Kamloops, Randy (Mary) of Prince George, five grandchildren, Melissa, Katelyn, Chloe, Lindsay and Ehren; four brothers, Werner (Sharon), Ernie (Judy), Tom (Betty) and Rolly; sister in law, Linda Benson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
