Truda passed away peacefully on November 17 at Cedar Hills Care Facility in Langley, B.C.
She was born in London, England, July 7 and is predeceased by her husband Abe Loewen, whom she met in London during WW2, and her granddaughter Sara.
She leaves behind her 6 children: Dan (Suzy), Carolyn, Marion (Kim), Philip (Donna), Peter (Del), Sharon (Steven); 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and three sisters Pauline, Helen and Margaret.
Truda went back to school later in life and received her teaching degree from UBC and her Master in Education from SFU. Truda taught in Langley and Mission for a number of years. After retiring she was very active in Peer Counselling and Senior Services. She was a volunteer with the RCMP and was an associated member of the Canadian Legion.
She will be greatly missed for both her commitment to her community and family. We love you Mom, Rest in Peace.
A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, November 27 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish, 20676 Fraser Highway, Langley. Interment to follow.
