It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father, Harold on June 29th 2009, at the age of 95 years. Born near Mossbank, Saskatchewan on December 21, 1913, Harold grew up on the family farm there. The family moved to B.C. in the early 1930’s and established themselves in the Okanagan – Shuswap area.  Eventually settling in Salmon Arm in 1955, this remained “home” until his death.

Harold was a talented and diverse man who excelled in various endeavors.  If Dad couldn’t find exactly what he wanted, he’d make it.  After retiring, he continued to be very active in his shop and also enjoyed tending his vineyard and farm.

Harold is survived by his son, David Anseth (Virgilia), his daughter, Esther Martinsen, 5 grandchildren; Talitha, Halliday (Jim), Tonia Kenney (Mark), Tasha Sheppard (Eric), Derrick Anseth (Melanie), and Carlos Anseth; 5 great-grandchildren, Nikole Kenney, Taylor Halliday,  Koaltyn Kenney, Isaac Halliday and Kylan Sheppard; one sister Signe Keddy and many nephews and nieces.

Harold was predeceased by his loving wife, Alma, and his brothers Leif and Bert, and his sisters Nora and Ruth.

Harold was well-liked and respected by all who knew him. He was always willing to give of himself to help others. One of the special ways that he exhibited this characteristic was in his desire to share his spiritual wealth with others. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1934, Harold was an active, zealous minister and evangelizer. Also he looked forward to the promised Kingdom of God as the solution for the woes afflicting the human family. Included is the hope of a resurrection, which he now awaits in line with Jesus’ promise at John 5:28,29. He also passed this legacy on to his children. What an inspiration he has been!  We miss him terribly, but look forward to welcoming him once again.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 721 2nd St. S.E. Salmon Arm, on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 2:00 pm with Garf Chursky officiating.   A tea will follow.  All who wish to are invited to come and share with us in remembrance of Harold.
