It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Harry passed away quietly at home in the evening of March 29, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, daughters, Courtney and Danielle, parents Chris and Alma Adams, father-in-law Harry Brewster (Irene), his brother Martin (Dode), sisters Marion, Christa, Ingrid (Mike), Edda (Bruce), sister-in-law Linda (Brian) and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Hamburg, West Germany, Harry immigrated as an infant to Montreal in 1954 where his family lived until 1969 and then relocated to Vancouver. Shortly after getting married, Harry and Cheryl moved to Salmon Arm in 1996 to raise their family.
Harry started his successful gem business, Adams and Son Importers Ltd., in 1975. Over the past 33 years, he made many life long friends and associates world-wide.
Harry’s family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to the jewellery community across Canada and his many friends for their support during this very difficult time. We would also like to express heartfelt thanks to the ALS society, Harry’s personal care phyisican, Dr. Skubiak, the staff at Shuswap Health Services Community Care and Harry’s wonderful Home Care providers for the tremendous care and comfort he received.
In addition, Cheryl and the girls would like to acknowledge the incredible support received from angels at large (you know who you are) Thank you!
A gathering for Harry and family will be announced shortly in local papers.
You are also invited to join the family in a celebration of Harry’s Life at the Town and Country Inn, Delta, BC, from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.
If people desire, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Harry’s memory to the ALS Society in Alberta or BC would be greatly appreciated.
