The family of Harry Burnett sadly announces his passing on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the age of 64 after a battle of Multiple System Atrophy. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra, and his sons, Simon and Paul.

Born in Hadleigh, Suffolk he emigrated to Dawson Creek where he met and married Sandra. He worked as a Geophysicist and through that, introduced his family to many places around the world. Significant stopovers included Calgary, Spain, San Antonio and Vancouver. During a period of “semi-retirement” he purchased a hotel in Belize, Central America and named it Hotel Playador (home of the legendary Crazy Canuck bar). Harry and Sandra moved to Blind Bay in 2003 where they made many wonderful friends.

He died peacefully.

In keeping with his fun-loving spirit, there was no funeral but a celebration of Harry’s life on Thursday, July 10th. It took place at 3:00 pm at 2836 Marine Drive, Blind Bay (Jim & Evie Zerbin’s). Casual attire (shorts & t-shirts) was preferred. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Society of BC would be appreciated by the family.
