“Bud” Henry Ray Thorarinson passed away peacefully on April 8, 2010 at the age of 74 years.

Bud was born in Elfros, Saskatchewan on August 14, 1935. He had resided in Salmon Arm since 1946. Bud retired from Federated Co-op as a journeyman carpenter after 28 years.

Bud also understood the importance of community involvement and was an active member of the Kinsmen Club for many years, coached little league baseball with his sons and was president of the league for 7 years and coached ladies softball.

He will always be remembered for his talents in gardening, hunting, fishing, cooking “pickled herring” & lots of laughter. He opened his heart and arms to many people,

Bud was well known for his love of house boating and skiing on the Shuswap with many friends and family.

His generosity, commitment to family and enthusiasm for life will always be treasured.

Bud is survived by his wife & life partner of 50 years, Loretta and two sons Brent (Lisa), Dean (Clara) and three grandchildren Nicholas, Kelson, & Maya. Siblings Marlene (J.O.), Betty Lou (Dave), Sharon (Roger), Larry (Dorie). May nieces & nephews and extended family.

A celebration of life was held on April 11, 2010 at the Mountainside Tea Room with refreshments and sharing of memories by friends and family. The celebrant was his niece Cappi Bowers.

Arrangements were made in the care of Bowers Funeral Home and Crematorium, Salmon Arm.
