It is with heavy hearts that the family of Hermine Imre announces her passing on April 1, 2017 at her home in Silver Creek at the age of 93.

She is predeceased by her brother, Franz Derkits (Gwen) of Punta Gorda, Belize and her sisters, Anna Krämer (Gazer), Martha Varga (Hans) and Henrietta Wesel (Heinrich) of Vienna, Austria.

Hermine was born on February 28, 1924 in Stegersbach, Austria to parents Franz and Hermine Derkits. While working as a hairstylist in Oberwart, she met Alexander Imre and they married on June 14, 1947. With two young children they immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1952. They also lived in Oakland, California for many years where she continued to work as a hair stylist and manage her own hair style salon until her retirement in Silver Creek, Salmon Arm.

She derived great joy from talking to friends and strangers, having family around her, especially great-grandchildren and keeping all well fed.

She will be lovingly remembered for her generosity, kindness and her ability to laugh easily and often.
