Howard Joseph Muik passed away suddenly at his residence in Salmon Arm, BC in the early hours of Monday, December 03, 2007 at the age of 77 years.

The funeral service was held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on Friday afternoon, December 7th, at 1:00 p.m. with brothers-in-law, Lorne and Richard Kliewer officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Ida Cemetery, Salmon Arm.

Born in Bruce, Alberta on January 28, 1930, Howard ran Muik’s Trucking and farmed for years in the Aldergrove area prior to moving to the Salmon Arm area in 1995. He had dreamt of this move since first seeing the Silver Creek Valley in 1972. Howard was active in the community including the Salmon Valley Seniors and the Shuswap Pioneer Collectors Club.

He leaves his loving family, wife Martha; four children, Randy (Heather) of Surrey, Evelyn (Vern) Sinclair of Aldergrove, Gordon (Fern) of Salmon Arm and Ken (Sandy) Letkeman of Aldergrove; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas, Natalie R., Narissa, Rachele, Jared, Lindsay, Natalie K., Joe, Sam, Brad and Greg; 4 great grandchildren, Scotty, Doug, Brooklyn and Riley; sister Joyce and brother Morris both of Saskatoon; many nieces and nephews.
