KLUDASH, irene marie

(December 24, 1927 - June 2, 2008)

It is with great sadness, the family of Irene Marie Kludash (born in Camrose, AB) announces her sudden passing at Peace Arch Extended Care in White Rock, B.C. Irene is survived by her sisters Jacquie and Yvonne and brother Vernon. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, her mother and father and sister Joanne. She will be dearly missed by her children Linda Acheson (Fort McMurray, AB), Valerie Kludash (Delta, BC), Rod and Debby Kludash (Prince George, BC), Cheryl and Tony Martin (Salmon Arm, BC), Stephen and Carla Kludash (Nanaimo, BC), Joan and Bryce Schindel (Surrey, BC) and her 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandson who all deeply loved her. Throughout the last few difficult years, Irene showed tremendous strength and courage and never lost her sense of humour. Married in Creston, BC in 1950, Irene and Bill lived in Tulsequah, BC before settling in Kimberley BC for the next 32 years.  After retiring in 1982, Irene and Bill moved to Canoe, BC where she sang in the Canoe Church Choir, enjoyed singing at extended care residences, carpet bowled and belonged to the Quilters Guild. In 2001, after the passing of her husband, Irene settled in White Rock, BC for the remainder of her years.  Throughout her life, Irene’s spirit and compassion for others stayed strong. She especially loved music, both playing the piano and singing as well as writing poetry. Service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Canoe United Church near Salmon Arm, BC with refreshments following at the Canoe Seniors Centre.  Interment will take place in Creston B.C. on Monday, July 21, 2008. In lieu of flowers, Irene would have preferred donations be made to Cystic Fibrosis in support of her grandson Sam.
