Iris Shykora passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2008 at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm, BC.
Iris was born in Enderby, BC on December 9, 1941. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Mike and Katie Shykora and brother Willie. Iris is survived by Keith, her loving husband of thirty years, sisters Marion, Natalka, Olga, Annie and Patricia and brothers Ben, Paul and Dennis as well as nieces and nephews.
Iris was retired after a long and dedicated service to the BC Government in Prince George. Iris and Keith moved to Salmon Arm to enjoy their retirement, tending their garden and walking along the lakeshore.
Iris will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, honesty and her gentle soul.
Keith and Iris’s family would like to thank the staff of Bastion Place for their care and support. Her brothers and sisters would like to extend a special thank you to Keith for his devotion and loving care during Iris’s illness.
A funeral service was held on Friday, July 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from Fischer’s Funeral Services with Pastor Norm Russell officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Ida Cemetery, Salmon Arm.
