James Albert (Jim) Webster passed away in Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the age of 74 years.

A celebration of life service was held from the Eagle Bay Community Hall on Monday, June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. with Jack Bowers officiating. Tributes were shared by family and friends, including Brad Muir, Drina Latrace and Darryl and Brenda Webster.

Cremation with interment to follow at a later date in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Vernon, BC.

Born in Virden, Manitoba on May 29, 1934, Jim worked for years with Alcan at Kitimat and later, Ocean Falls Corporation prior to early retirement due to failing health. He is well remembered for his quick wit and love of sharing stories. He moved to Eagle Bay in 2002 and later into Bastion Place, Salmon Arm in February 2007.

He was predeceased by brother, Kenneth, and father, John. Jim is survived by his loving family, wife of 49 years, Liane; daughter, Brenda of Sechelt and son, Darryl of Vernon; four grandchildren, Danica, Shannon, Paige and Travis; two great- grandsons, Kage and Conrad; mother, Ida of Vernon; sister, Merilee (Peter) Howe of Vernon and brother, Jack (Sheri) of Kelowna; sister-in-law, Elsie of Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in memory of Jim may be sent to the Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, 2125 West 7th Avenue,Vancouver, BC, V6K 1X9.
