Morgan, James Forysth; Born May 21, 1935, in Port Alberni, BC, passed away peacefully May 20, 2008, at his home in Salmon Arm. James grew up in the Lower Mainland, and moved to Salmon Arm in 1984. He was involved with Western Human Resources and Shuswap Association for Community Living for many years. James enjoyed birds and animals, and volunteered at SPCA until his retirement at age 65. He continued to be a regular visitor and supporter.

James was a regular at the bowling alley and enjoyed baseball - in his earlier years was known for his pitching skills. In recent years, James had the opportunity to travel, which he enjoyed. He also loved to go for coffee at many of the local restaurants and enjoyed talking to people he met there.

James had a wonderful voice and was often heard singing many of the old songs; gospel hymns were among his favourite. He had a strong faith in God and could never understand why people would want to hurt each other.

As a long time resident of Salmon Arm, James knew many people in the community. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, and especially by the residents and staff at Twenty-Ten Foothills Group Home.

In lieu of flower, donations in memory of James to the BCSPCA Shuswap Branch, Box 883, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4N9 would be appreciated. A funeral service will be held at the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm on Friday, May 30, 2008, at 1:30 p.m.
