John James Rae passed away peacefully at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm, BC on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the age of 76 years. John was born in Maryfield, Saskatchewan on April 21, 1932 and had resided in Salmon Arm since 1990. He had retired from CPR after 38 years of employment. John enjoyed curling, bowling, golfing, camping and fishing.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Esther and one sister, Lois Cornell. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Freda; son, Neil (Nyreen) Rae of England; daughter, Brenda (Souhail) Soujah of Golden; stepsons, Tim Laforet of Salmon Arm and Tony (Kathy) Laforet of Thunder Bay, ON; grandchildren, Shawn, Katie, Gareth, Shoni, Curtis and Shannon; great grandchildren, Brandon, Abigail, Tanner and Brooklynn. Also surviving are his brother, Bill (Joan) Rae of Saskatoon; and sisters, Marion (Fred) White of Hartney, MN and Donna (Gary) Hubman of Pitt Meadows, BC.

A celebration of John’s life was held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm on Tuesday, June 24th at 11:00 am with Capreece Bowers

officiating.
