TOMKINSON

November 21, 1927 - July 15, 2008

On Tuesday, July 15, 2008 Mrs. Julia Minnie Amelia Tomkinson of Cold Lake passed away at the age of 80 years. Mrs. Tomkinson raised eight children while operating a mixed farm and raising cattle in the Cherry Grove area in addition to working as a civilian food service supervisor at CFB Cold Lake.

 Mrs. Tomkinson will be lovingly remembered by her children; Wayne (Nancy) Tomkinson of Cold Lake, Lynda (Wayne) Sears of Middleton, NS, Edward Tomkinson of Cold Lake, Robin (Glen) Barkman of Calgary, Cheryl (Eric) Hunter of Lethbridge, Fay (Rod) Holte of Cold Lake and Russell (Jacqui) Myers of Cold Lake, eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Violet (Bob) Harris of Sherwood Park, Marie (Gordon) Lennie of Edmonton and Ellen Siering of Cold Lake and brother Howard Just of Calgary as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Julia also leaves her life long friends Marion Desjarlais and Lamona Martial of Cold Lake. Mrs. Tomkinson was predeceased by her husband George Tomkinson (1958), her son Art Tomkinson (2005) and her parents Leona (1982) and Frederick (1981) Just.

A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Cold Lake, Alberta. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery.
