Kenneth Gordon Shaw passed away peacefully in the loving care of his family and staff at Hospice House, Kelowna, BC on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the age of 68 years.

The funeral service will be held from the Mission Creek Alliance Church, 2091 Springfield Road, Kelowna, on Saturday afternoon, March 6th at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jan Heppner officiating.   Born in Kelowna on August 18, 1941, Ken worked as a welder with Newnes Machine in Salmon Arm for several years prior to his health situation which brought him back to Kelowna in 1989. With his wife, he soon began a new career as Apartment caretaker and Manager, which they gained a huge respect for cleaning up the buildings and tenants. Ken is well remembered for his dedication with the Salmon Arm volunteer ambulance service, this was prior to the formation of BC Provincial Ambulance.

Predeceased by his parents, Jesse and Gordon Shaw, sister, Donna Johnson.

Ken is survived by his wife, June, children, Gordon (Jennifer) Johnson of Salmon Arm, Cindy Black of Kelowna, Terri (John) Jacques of Salmon Arm, Todd Shaw of Kelowna; 3 grandchildren, Steven Black, Jared and Quiana Jacques; two sisters, Joan Gee of Grand Prairie and Betty Sylvestor of Ladner; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Kelowna Hospice Foundation in memory of Ken Shaw.
