It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd James Vanderburg at his home in Sicamous at the age of 81. Born in Schell Lake Saskatchewan to Percy and Wilma Vanderburg Lloyd leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Diane (nee Bach) as well as 5 children; Della (Clyde), Allan (Karen), Chris (Brenda), Lloyd, Dean (Nicole), Ryan (Wendy), 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In the year 1941 he and his family moved to Headgate Road in Lavington BC where at a young age he learned to work hard farming and logging. Lloyd met Diane through family, fell in love and eloped to Coeur d’alene Idaho, then returning to the family farm to start raising their family. Lloyd took much pride in working hard for his family whom he loved dearly.  Lloyd retired from Weyerhaeuser in Lumby B.C.  where he worked his way up to be a millwright for 36 years and moved to Sicamous BC. Lloyd and Diane bought several house boats and spent many years enjoying and exploring the beautiful landscapes of the Shuswap area with their family in tow.  Lloyd was always willing to help any one in need, be it trouble shooting, fixing problems, repairing appliances or just listening to those who were seeking advise.  He was always someone you could count on. His passing has left a huge hole not only to his family but also in the community of Sicamous. There will be no formal services at his request. Diane and her family would like to thank all their family and dear friends for the meals, flowers and support.
