Margaret Bayne (Peggy) Sutherland (nee Patterson) passed away peacefully at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm, on Saturday, May 3, 2008 on her 91st birthday.

Born in Brandon, Manitoba on May 3, 1917, Peggy worked as a pharmacy assistant for several years in Manitoba prior to moving to the Kamloops area. In 1977, she and Reg retired to Blind Bay, later moving into Lion’s Manor at Sorrento. After Reg’s passing, Peggy resided at Parkview Place, Salmon Arm, Shuswap Lodge, and finally, due to failing health, Bastion Place. She is well remembered for her love of dancing, card games, gifts of knitting and being a gracious host.

Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Reginald in 2002, her two sisters, Marion Ferguson and Jean Robertson, and two brothers Bob and John Patterson. She leaves to mourn her loving and faithful nieces and nephews living throughout Western Canada who wish to extend a sincere thank you to all the dedicated staff at the Shuswap Lodge and Bastion Place for their excellent care and kindness to “Auntie Margie”.

A celebration of life service will be held in the Mountainside Room at Bowers Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15th, at 11:00 a.m. with Jack Bowers officiating.

Cremation with interment to follow in the family plot at Blind Bay Cemetery.
