Marguerite (Peggy) Estelle Lywood of Blind Bay, B.C. passed away quietly in her sleep June 9, 2009 from diabetes-related complications. She was 79 years old.Peggy was born in Toronto, Ontario July 4, 1929, the second of three children. She married Vernon Stubbings of Lindsay, Ontario in 1945. They had one son, Paul John (1948).
Divorced in 1951, she married William John Lywood, also of Lindsay, in 1952. They had three sons: Daniel Carl (1953), William Roger (1955) and Timothy Stephen (1957). Following John’s death (1999), she shared the rest of her life with her friend Peter Gagaluk of Blind Bay.
Pre-deceased by her sister May Osborne and husband John Lywood, she is survived by her four sons and their families, including 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Peggy was buried on June 13, 2009 in St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Blind Bay, B.C. Memorial contributions to the Salmon Arm S.P.C.A. would be greatly appreciated.
