Our mother was our greatest gift. She was a dignified, generous and joy-filled person, an exceptional mother to seven children and best-ever nanny to 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her life was marked by her remarkable patience, profound compassion for others and heart-warming smile. As a nurse, Mom gave herself to others always, from their first to last breath. As a neighbour and friend, there was nothing that she would not share.

Her greatest joy and love was her family. As our mother and grandmother, she created special moments for each and every one of us. We will cherish our memories of her forever. Mom died peacefully after a long, brave battle with dementia. Heartfelt thanks go out to Mom’s many caregivers and support staff at Oakside Manor, Pioneer Lodge and Hillside Village and at other programs and facilities in Salmon Arm, and Dr. Ruth Brighouse. Mom didn’t want a funeral - a gathering of family and friends will take place in the summer. In lieu of flowers, Mom would prefer a donations to a charity of your choice, and that you spend time with the ones you love.
