Norman Hellyer passed Nov 17,2008 at Bastion Place after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Norm was born March 4th,1933 in Langbank, SK. He had been a long-time resident of Salmon Arm. Shortly after moving here in 1977, Norm became a partner in “Salmon Arm Glass”. He retired from the glass business in 1992. He was an excellent curler, having won a car in 1976 in Vernon, and also several cash spiels over the years. Norm also enjoyed camping, fishing, travelling, golfing and cherished time spent with family, friends and “Scooter”.

Norm was predeceased by his son Bob in 2001.He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sue; daughter, Jo-Ann Obrand; brother Bill (Etta) of Abbotsford; aunt Elva McCauley (Surrey); grandkids, Samantha, Matthew, Shaun, as well as many family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Norm’s life was held at Bowers Funeral Home on Saturday Nov 22 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of NORM may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of BC, 600-890 W. Pender Street, Vancouver, BC, V6C 1J9.
