Robert (Bob) Lehto

Bob passed away peacefully on March 31st 2008 at Royal Inland hospital. He was born in Finland; Dec 12 1917 came to Canada at a very young age. He grew up in Chase with four siblings Anna, Gertie, Tom, deceased and is survived by sister Maisie Black of Kamloops B.C. He grew up in and around the Chase area. Working in the logging industry for part of that time. He served in World War 2 and was shipped overseas to Scotland where he met and married his first wife Anne Petrie and started a family, which he brought back to his home area of Chase.

He also lived a few years in Little Fort where he met and married his second wife Marie Savoie who predeceased him 1990.

He is survived by his three children Margaret Chalus of Hope, B. C., Robert (Bob) Lehto of Lac La Hashe B.C., Donald (Wade) Lehto and wife (Hilda) of Kamloops., and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Special thanks to all the staff of the Ponderosa for their kind care, where he spent his last remaining years. Also a extra special thanks to Dr Mabee for all his kind care.

A small service will be held on Monday April 7th 2008 at the Kamloops Funeral Home 285 Fortune Drive at 1:00 p.m. with a tea to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society 450 Landsdowne Street. Unit #111, Kamloops B.C. V2C 1Y3.
