On February 18, 2010, Roland Deacon went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at the age of 86 years, due to heart problems.
Roland had a military flying career in the RCAF from 1941 to 1970, retiring as captain in 442 squadron, search and rescue, Comox, BC. Roland and his family chose to settle in the beautiful Salmon Arm area in 1970.
Roland was predeceased by his daughter Heather Gerbrandt in 2006. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Jessie, whose beauty he always acknowledged. Roland also leaves behind his four sons and their wives, Gary (Joyce), Rick (Arlene), David (Susan) and Dan (Sherri), 15 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A special thank you to the caring staff at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Bowers Funeral Service, Pastor Dave Penner and all the wonderful friends that showered us with flowers, food, love and prayers at this time.
Funeral Arrangements were in the care of Bowers Funeral Home and Crematorium.
