Ronald Edward Volk passed away peacefully at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on June 10, 2009 at the age of 69 years.

Ron was born February 26, 1940, in Wilkie Saskatchewan moving to Richmond at age two.  At age 16, he traveled to Cache Creek to work with his uncle Val Senger.  In 1964, he married the love of his life, Pam, and they had one child, a daughter, Janessa.  He moved his family to Tappen in 1966 beginning a 40 year association with Federated Co-op working in the logging division, retiring in 2001.

Ron and Pam then traveled the country and spent their winters in Arizona.  Ron was known for his resourcefulness, handyman skills and quick wit. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his father, Joe and his younger brother, Harold.  Ron leaves behind his wife, Pam (ne: Scurrah); daughter, Janessa (Glen Ferguson); and the pride of his life, granddaughter, Taylor.  He also leaves his Mom, Rose, of Penticton and two brothers, Robert (Carol) of Gold River, BC and Kenneth (Sandie) of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Sunnybrae Community Hall.  In memory of Ron, donations may be made to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation, Box 265, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4N3.
